| PWebURL HTTP/FTP Protocol SupportYesterdays stand-alone, self-contained applications are quickly becoming obsolete. Distributed, networked applications have become critical to meeting business needs in a fast-paced, dynamic world. Until now, building Internet-enabled Paradox® applications wasn't easy. With the release of PWebURL, simple calls to standard library methods give your applications a powerful new API that dramatically simplifies the process of creating Internet-enabled Paradox® applications. Consider a sales application running on a laptop. In a situation like this, the sales person may need to transmit daily sales receipts to be incorporated into the central database. It would be nice if the client application could connect to the Internet and upload a Paradox® table to the company's FTP site. A central application running on the companys LAN, will in turn detect the uploaded table and use it to update the central database. It would be even nicer if this whole process could be done automatically, with no user intervention. Consider a developer adding support to their applications to automate the application of patches and upgrades. The application checks a central FTP server for the latest patches and upgrades, downloads and applies them. Bulletins and alerts could also be incorporated. Consider fetching raw HTML pages and parsing them for data and/or following links to other desired HTTP resources or posting HTML Forms to generate results. PWebURL makes it possible to create Paradox® applications that can download Web resources via HTTP Get, perform HTTP Form Posts and upload and download files via FTP. PWebURL uses the Microsoft® WinInet Dynamic Link Library with IE5.5 SP2 or later recommended. Key Benefits
